Auto Shutdown Access Database
Auto shutdown Access database Compact and repair without the delays of waiting for all users to exit the Access database. Automatically close all front-end databases to allow back-end tables to be maintained.
When you trigger the close instruction from the back-end tables mechanism, each front-end database user receives the above message before their instance of the database shuts down.
You can now compact/repair the database within five minutes of an issue being reported instead of having to wait for all users to exit their databases. You can also easily compact/repair every day as a precautionary measure to prevent or reduce database failures.
This service includes:
- An addition of a system status table in the back-end Access database
- The auto shutdown mechanism to be added to the main build of your front-end Access database.
- All tables checked for any corruption and misuse of the field types likely to lead to corruption.
- Demonstration of the auto shutdown mechanism installed on your Access database.
It will be up to you to distribute the new front-end containing the shutdown mechanism to all of your database users. Any users left using the older version front-end will continue to lock the back-end tables.
